I like it. Clean and modern, without being too flashy for a PBS audience.

In the time-lapse of the set construction just before the end of the programme, it looks like there's another desk on the opposite side of the studio. I wonder what that's for?

The new set is so much more in keeping with today's PBS. The previous titles worked well but the set was incredibly dated. Looking forward to seeing how this is rolled out on PBS NewsHour Weekend. As stated earlier, it's produced by a different PBS station and was running a different set and titles.

Most likely they'll have abridged titles since the weekend edition is only 30 minutes long on both days. They add up to a full hour. And the Tisch WNET studios are small, so the space probably won't change unless WETA (Producers of the weekday edition) takes on full production of the weekend show.
