Does anyone actually know the circumstances behind Helens departure? Everyone seems to be assuming that she left against her own accord, but no-one actually knows for certain anything else was the case

yes, i would imagine his move would be properly "news-managed" after the fiasco of fosperos departure. the last thing they want to do is let the viewers know there is a state of panic at bbc north.

The BBC's move has nothing to do with local news though, it's CBBC and Sport ... and it's about five years away.

I'm not trying to stir any sh*t here, but there is no smoke without fire.
As many people know, my ex-girlfriend of many years was a Lancashire lass. Her eldest brother, who I got on very well with works for ITV plc/Granada (whatever it's called now).
He has said that there are many new faces going to be appearing on the local news programmes in the next 6 months because they want to establish a very early lead before the Beeb's move to Manchester.
I haven't heard Hudson's name specifically, but it does fit in rather conveniently with the planned shake-up.

You miss my point, Dan.
ITV/Granada/etc want to be seen as the dominant local media company, and local news is a strategy for that.

Siting here with a bored moribund, yet unusually smug attitude that finally, everyone on the forum, not just us poor contributors on the Yorkshire & Lincolnshire link, have seen Katherine in her true colours.
A few words spring to mind: sad, lonely, pathetic, needs-to-get-out-more, etc. etc.
Oh for anyone who is still bothering to read this, YTV Sophie was banned on Katherine's insistance and most members on the YTV link have been threatened or received bans or PM's suggesting such is about to take place....hmmm.....terrifying.

Sitting here with a VERY relieved, smug grin at the moment! ****-stirrers of the forum take note....
I have received an e-mail from Paul Hudson just now, which totally scotches the falsehood of a certain malicious bonehead on here that has caused me a lot of un-necessary anxiety, panic and depression I felt when I read the totally UNTRUE story about Paul moving to the Granada Media Group. His e-mail reads thus. God, I'm enjoying this.....
Now then, I presume that the perpetrator of this would now like to apologise? Remember this: with my connections to Look North, I can EASILY check the authenticity of ANY rumour you put out. I can check, AND I ALWAYS DO. It is therefore pointless and futile to try and wind me up on here. So in the future, don't even try it.
Now then, what was it I said about bans if the story was found to be false, hmm?

Hi Katherine,
I dont mind you saying that you have received an e-mail from me this morning saying the rumour is a load of rubbish and I dont know where it has come from. Take it from me I'm going nowhere. It's total garbage.

Katherine, why didn't you just give up internet forums for Lent again, then none of this pointless fiasco need have happened?

You shouldn't eat dairy products. In the course of evolutionary history, the human digestive system isn't adapted to properly cope with dairy products seeing as cows/goats were only domesticated around 5000 years ago.
Perhaps you should consider becoming a vegan, Katherine?

During this time, wouldn't the Darwinian theory about natural selection/evolution have produced dairy product-tolerant digestive systems in humans, though?
I believe Darwin's study into finches of the Galapagos Islands showed that species adapt to their surroundings.....
