For the record, I have contacted the Sheffield Star to request that they confirm or deny this story....

If this is a fabrication and a wind-up, I hope bans will occur for the chief troublemakers.

Katherine. Really. Calm down. Deep breaths. Leave the poor people at the Sheffield Star alone, they're probably busy working trying to earn their money.

You're going to look a bit foolish if this is made up, especially as the truth will come out before the Star probably reply on Monday.

I can't see it being true myself, although he may be fed up of the technical problems making him look daft every night. I suppose if he's on tonight we'll know for sure!

Why don't you just got direct to the source and call Look North rather than the paper???

I have done - I've dropped an e-mail to nearly every presenter there, as well as asked Asa to examine this story too.

I'll say ... I said call, not e-mail every single one of the 20,000 BBC employees ..

Some people have *far* too much times on their hands - calling the local newspaper and demanding to know if it's true?? That screams of bunny boiling stalker whichever way you look at it! LOL!

oh dear you lot are really taking this too seriously
so what if Paul stays at Look North or goes to GMGweather just means Katherine will av to watch ITV instead of the BBC.
It is not the end of the world

Exactly.

We're only talking about a weather forecaster changing channels here.

It's hardly George Dublya becoming a Democrat.

If anything it is a good thing, as the chap would be presenting on Yorkshire, Granada, Border and Tyne Tees (weekends) and he would be probably be on the air more often, rather than in the 1.30pm and 6.30pm BBC1 bulletins, he would be on the ITV1 the bulletins are on at 11.00am, 12.55pm, 3.10pm (not for much longer mind), 6.25pm and 10.55pm, also don't forget weekends!

It just means that you will now have to press '3' or '103'

Interesting nwtv - means that when I go on holiday to the Lake District, I could see him. Where we stay has a vertically polarised aerial pointing to the Keswick transmitter, and that carries Border via Caldbeck. It's better for the area than Look North Newcastle so we always end up seeing Lookaround (correct title? It's something like that)....
