Have a feeling this has been mentioned before, but if not, how long has Paddy been presenting Working Lunch...on what I can only assume Friday's.

I love it. Suits the programme perfectly and its great to see him back him on screen.

Yay Very Happy

He was great on the 7 O'Clock News a couple of weeks ago, but deserves to have his own show rather than filling in for others all over the place. I think he'd be a great Five Live presenter, the only downside being that we'd not get to see him...

Patrick O'Connell has for a long time now been on the "Buisness" side of BBC News.
He had a stint back in 1999 an American Presenter on World Buisness Report, featuring of course that famous, "are we on yet" accident.
Paddy then moved around abit, popping up here and there, before most recently moving to Liquid News in the final few months of the programme.
From memory Paddy's the stand in for Adrain. He does suit the programme very well. And oh course hes now stand in for the 7 O'Clock News with the very brilliant Mr Mair.
would'nt be surprised to see Mr O'Connell in more high profile in the very near future.

He's stood in for Fi Glover on Broadcasting House (R4, Sunday mornings) a few times as well. One of those people who seems ready to try anything, and is generally good at it.

And before he was the American presenter he covered the London side of the programme. That was when Richard Quest was in New York, before he moved on to "pastures new". That really was when the WBR was at its very best.

And you can catch him on London's LBC 97.3 next Saturday 7am-10am, filling in for David Prever.

He's done LBC a number of times before in the past couple of years. He was in for Richard Park last Sunday morning.

I'm not a regular LBC listener at the weekend, it lets itself down a bit but will make a special effort to tune into Paddy.

Richard Park has now been removed from the list of presenters on the LBC website, and Paddy has been added, so this may be a longer-term thing.

(Tho obviously Richard is busy with Fame Academy at the moment)

Paddy also presented Newswatch on News 24/BBC One during Breakfast this week.

It is great to see him on-screen again.

I have seen him present Hardtalk extra but only the once. He interviewed Henry Rollins - who seems like an interesting guy even though I do not know that much about him.
