Oxford Circus Incident

First reported just before 5pm on BBC/Sky, now rolling.

Hopefully nothing too serious or sinister but social media reports quite concerning.

Obviously very close to the BBC at Portland Place.

Ch 5 news has a live camera on Oxford street.

As have the BBC and Sky now.

Conflicting reports that nearby buildings have been evacuated, while people are being told to go inside a building. So ironically might be tricky for the BBC to get resources there if they arent able to get out of the building.

Sky News also have a live camera there as well.

Sky now have a live helicopter at the scene.

Will be interesting what happens to The One Show tonight

Looks like pure panic, somebody thought there were gunshots when there was not. Police say there was no evidence of any gun shots.

The question has to be asked, should the media hype up events such as this before they know what is happening? Seeing as it only adds to the panic.

Seems to have been a minor incident at worst... Other than some guests possibly being delayed due to the proximity to the BBC I can't see any reason for it not to go ahead as usual

No, seems to all be over now thankfully. It's not so much the guests but they tend to do stuff outside on the plaza in front of BH on a Friday
