He started crying when his video was shown, he did not cry when the names of those he killed and what he did was read out. I think it was pretty clear that he was crying at his own video and this had to be said because i don't think the cameras showed the video being played at the time.
I have no problem with them reporting that he cried when he was watching his own video. That is simply reporting the facts. I have my gripe with them putting their own spin on it saying "he cried at his video in satisfaction and admiration of his actions" or words to that effect.
A friend and I both agree that there is far too much of it being shown on the News Channel. I started giving it a wide berth in nautical terms yesterday.
I didn't see Sopel's comments but were they not made in a "playing devils advocate" context like some reporters/presenters sometimes do. I.e almost becoming the person who is sat watching the TV and trying to get their point across. If that makes sense?
