From what I picked up from the bulletin he was killed last week before the royal wedding. Was there a news blackout about Bin Ladens death to prevent any unrest during the wedding.

There were some reports that he was killed by a drone last week, and it's taken the US this long to identify his DNA, but Obama's statement seems to contradict in that he said that "today" he authorised the attack, and that it was solely a ground operation.

No wonder conspiracies have already started with that and an alleged sea burial.

That would be the beeb I saw that on, I also saw that he had been fed to the fishes. Give me half hour and I'll spike 'imindoors coffee with brandy so he nods off then I will be able to watch news instead of sodding Jeremy Kyle.

Sky EPG is saying BBC News at Six from 6-6:45 and not a special then a separate bulletin. There is also an extended News at Ten until 10:30pm.

BBC World hasn't stopped for breath today. Babita Sharma broke the story overnight. Martine Dennis took over for three solid hours and was joined by Geeta Gurumurthy for the fourth hour. Ros Atkins joined Geeta for four hours, then Stepehn Sackur for GMT Then Ros Arkins with Lucy Hockings for twenty minutes, Mathew Amroliwala for twenty minutes, then back to Ros Atkins and Kasia Madera, and Lucy Hockings and Ben Brown with joint news special for the last two hours. No Impact today. Am guessing that The Hub will def air. But no breaksm weather forecasts or even countdowns at all today. Just end to end talking.

Knowing what we know now, this clip from the annual White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night is interesting:

Obama looks quite pleased with himself, I don't know who the person to his left is but I think he knew!

But UK public service broadcasters have a duty to be 'balanced' at least.
I don't think they are being, they are repeating propoganda.

What choice would they have if they couldn't find anyone to say "this is a bad thing"?

Don't they have a duty to find someone to provide that view?

Perhaps I wouldn't agree with it: but surely there is an argument here that someone has been assassinated? An individual is being lambasted by the media as responsible for crimes they haven't been charged with, convicted or sentenced for.

Surely it's wrong for PSBs to take such a one-sided view without such a process having taken place?

Muhammad Shafiq from The Islamic Academy of Manchester has just been on BBC News saying exactly this.

Will that do you?

Hmm... Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers cancelled due to today's news events... are we associating glove wearing penguins with terrorist ringleaders now?

Osama Bin Laden said he planned the attacks of 9/11, and gave the order.

So what kind of balance are you seeking ?

Claiming responsibility on YouTube/World media and being found guilty and sentenced for something are completely different - are you actually claiming them to be the same process?

I asked you what kind of balance you are seeking if someone dubbed a "mass murderer" appears in the media to say he committed the attacks. What is the counter-view you think they should be giving?

That was my question.

Answer, or don't. But that's the last time I address a question towards you Stuart. I asked you something perfectly legitimate, and you come back with some dumb-ass suggestion trying to make me look foolish.

No thanks.

Actually that half an hour has been used for the News at Six so National Treasure can air half an hour early
