Interesting that he is watching Hotbird from Pakistan, I'm sure I saw a pretty big Dish on the compound, must be the reason as this is the hotbird footprint:

Slight small point that the BBC on this clip seem to be showing the DVD menu between clips with someone selecting the clips manually each time. Come on BBC!!

Really great to see Frank Gardner's Arabic skills to be used. A really great journalist, and Tim isn't bad at all either!

Everyone has been doing that, Sky did cut away when they did it but all American outlets were doing it on the fly.

Just to explain, the playout of the clips was done by the DoD this afternoon and was carried live by one of the agencies and relayed live by the news channels. The DVD style menus were part of this, obviously they're useful to the news organisations as they identify the clips
