Oh, I switched on the TV this morning, and it appears Bin Laden still remains killed, even over 24 hours later. Amazing.

Why did they send Mark Austin to NY if they had already sent James Mates... Wouldn't it have made more sense to send him to Pakistan?

If they insist on sending someone out it would make even more sense to send someone to Cumbria. I don't see the purpose of sending someone out to report on a story which has already broken, impact has died down and any more information is just the finer details of what happened. It isn't a continuing story so there is no need really.

The Daily Star cover is comical. I know its gutter press but even by their standards. Bin Laden is sharing half the page with a competition to win Kate Middleton's dress and the groundbreaking news that Big Brother auditions start today Laughing.

BBC World hasn't stopped for breath today. Babita Sharma broke the story overnight. Martine Dennis took over for three solid hours and was joined by Geeta Gurumurthy for the fourth hour. Ros Atkins joined Geeta for four hours, then Stepehn Sackur for GMT Then Ros Arkins with Lucy Hockings for twenty minutes, Mathew Amroliwala for twenty minutes, then back to Ros Atkins and Kasia Madera, and Lucy Hockings and Ben Brown with joint news special for the last two hours. No Impact today. Am guessing that The Hub will def air. But no breaksm weather forecasts or even countdowns at all today. Just end to end talking.

For anyone interested: After the Lucy Hockings and Ben Brown hours, we had an hour of Tim and Karin Giannone, followed by Sophie Raworth for thirty minutes. Then Sophie Raworth and Matt Frei for fifteen minutes, Tim Willcox for 15 minutes. Then another hour of Tim and Karin, with most of it spent at the Pentagon Press Briefing. Mike Embley for a quick fifteen bulletin, then Peter Dobbie with WHYS Special, then back to Mike and Peter.

I cannot recall such a varied day on BBC World in history. A bit bemused as to why Kasia Madera was only on for twenty minutes though.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, I just have a gripe over why they would send two senior news anchors to New York instead of sending one to Islamabad. It just doesn't make sense in my view.

I think the story is still developing - there's been a few more details in the news conference today from the white house and there is also the possibility of the pictures being released of him soon.
