No, it's live on the News Channel only, unless World are taking it too.

BBCW started it at 21.30 so I guess it's a tape delayed broadcast. Strange that it started so randomly on News Channel.

Could it be that they didn't want/couldn't have it going back to back with the BBC News at Ten? This way, assuming it is 30 minutes or so, they will need to do padding just before the top of the hour.

They have just taken away the BBC News Channel graphics part way through the programme so we can now see the 'Newsnight' text on the astons.

EDIT AGAIN: Seems this may not be live after all. The video and sound just slowed down and paused for a second before carrying on without missing anything, so it is now on at least a second delay.

Started at 2125, the interview with Meyer has just stuttered a bit (ticker unaffected) so presumably that bit at least is on tape

The Newsnight twitter account says it was pre-recorded earlier this evening,

Forgive me, yes it is indeed recorded.
