Obvious reasons? I can't imagine the media are worried about offending Bin Laden's family.
Unless one of the Navy Seals was called Stewie.
Talking of Family Guy: RUSH LIMBAUGH: "Ladies and gentlemen, we need to open the programme today by congratulating President Obama,"
I can imagine the "PTV" episode of Family Guy might not be shown for a little while for obvious reasons - at least it's not scheduled any time soon on BBC Three.

Is there really any point? It's a broken story, not a breaking story.
Exactly.
I know - I don't understand why there's been such immense coverage. He's dead. There may be terrorism implications. What else is there to say?

The BBC used a great but very short clip from an American channel showing a basketball game. The crowd were getting the news on mobile telephony devices and chanting "USA USA USA" like they do. Does anyone have a longer version of that clip or other clips of how the news was broken on non-news channels?
Any video clips of channels first breaking the news? I saw one clip of Fox News being very jingoistic.

Huge figures for CNN in the U.S last night. They averaged 7.8m in the 11pm hour, with a brilliant 9.5m peak. Fox News averaged 4.8m in the 11pm hour.

Sean Lock made a threat to make Osama Bin Laden pay if he ever caught him in the episode of QI that was on BBC One this evening.

And the (SKY) EPG has updated too. That's twice in one day. This must be a new policy at the BBC News Channel. Let's hope they keep it up and remove things like Click from the EPG when there is breaking news.
Newsnight is on BBC News at 2130.

Are they simulcasting it with the BBC News Channel?
What time did it actually start on the BBC News Channel? It was already well under way when I turned over at 21:27. Is it live?
BBC WN will also show Newsnight now.
