Tim Willcox and Karin Giannone on at 5pm in N8

One assumes they are in N8 to allow a full hour of prep in N6 for tonights now extended BBC News At Six?

Yes, although I wondered if they would use TC7 as they will probably use it for newsnight too.

I doubt TC7 would be staffed until later this evening. It's not clear from the schedule info on BBC online as it states that Newsnight is on from 23:00-23:05, something tells me Newsnight will be on for more than 5 minutes Very Happy

Considering the snooker could fiinsh anytime between 9pm and 2am scheduling a special edition of Newsnight seems rather stupid and unnecessary tonight.

If they do feel it's absolutely necessary surely it's better to give it a scheduled slot on BBC News or BBC4 (even BBC1 8.30) then perhaps repeat it on BBC2 once the snooker is over.

I know it's easy to forget sometimes, but not everyone gets BBC News or BBC Four yet. It's nice to something trump the national obsession with sport for once Wink

I can see how it looks like that! At the moment, the listings are:
19:00 Snooker
23:00 Newsnight
23:05 The Boys from Brazil
23:30 Party Election Broadcast

The PEB was originally scheduled for 23:00 - it looks like the 30 minutes of Newsnight (see its programme page) has been slotted in before that, and everything else pushed back. The schedule page for BBC Two Scotland gets it right.

I think the programme name just changed on the BBC News channel SKY EPG while I was watching it. I'm pretty sure it was something like BBC News at Six but it is now BBC News Special: The Death of Osama Bin Laden.

Nice to see the BBC News Channel updating their EPG data for a change. On a bank holiday too.

Double headed on the ITV News at 6.15. Alastair drafted in to anchor with Mary, both back for NAT.

WTF. Pakistan's High Commissioner to London tells Sophie that OBL has probably been in Pakistan for quitw some time and his government was possibly aware!! Also, OBL only arrived at the "house" two days ago??? What a contradictory statement. And the whole thing blamed by him on Wikileaks????

Royal Wedding aside, has there been a double headded bank holiday bulletin in recent years?

You can imagine in a few weeks there will be a new video tape with him talking about his death.
