CNN and BBC reporting on their respective websites that president Obama will make an statement at 10:30 pm Washington time and that the US government has his body.

So, that's why Babita Sharma is now appearing on BBC World for a full hour, which is unusual on the overnights. They are awaiting a Barack Obama press conference. But details still appear a bit sketchy. BBC World not showing the red Breaking News ticker? Strange, why not?

Major news story, if it's true.

Overnight staff reporter Wendy Urquhart now appearing in the studio with Babita. Good to see the face behind the voice, after many years of anonymous overnight reports.

Huge story - expect all the big names to start rolling into the newsrooms soon. Babita handling it extremely well on BBC World, currently the only channel I have access to.

Obama press conference delayed again, but slated to occur at 0430 London time, 2nd May.
