Oruj Defoite (GMTV Reporter/Newsreader)

I've seen/heard some bad reporters in my time, but this woman has to be the worst. She sounds petrified all the time, she has absolutely no interest in the story whatsoever, when she 'reads' the news, she gives the impression she's looking for the nearest bucket to be sick in, and it's unbelieveable she once worked for the BBC.

Definately not the best journalist ever.

Perhaps you mean "not the best presenter ever", which she may not be (in your opinion). Her journalistic skills may be very good indeed for all you know.

I think she's okay.

It's a bit harsh creating a brand new thread specifically to slag this woman off. You may not think much of her but imagine how she'd feel if she saw this? I think this is a tad mean-spirited - especially aimed at someone who's not well known and just starting out in the industry.

To be fair - when she worked for the beeb - she was serving in the staff canteen.

Firstly, yes, I was serious. Clearly the original comment that she was "amateur" was meant in a sarcastic way, but I was deliberately responding in a literal way. As one of the comments in this thread (since deleted) showed, I think that the personal comments about people in the media often go a bit too far on this forum.

Secondly, that ridiculous 'poll' you quote proves nothing at all. It is simply a collection of presenters and newsreaders and personal opinions about them. Many who would generally be recognised as good are in the bad column and vice versa. I'm just not sure that some of the more extreme opinions of presenters are always very "honourable".

I must admit i think she is quite good.I can't bear it when Penny makes smug comments after she has read the news.
