Opportunism at the BBC?

Recently, we saw Kate Silverton again trying to branch out into television areas which cover her life; first it was her Panorama show about whther she was going to give birth or not, and last week it was to conquer her fear of water.

Kaplinsky - well it goes without saying, really - has done the same, and will now feature in Who Do You Think You Are?

The two presenters seem to have an obsession with the public wanting to know more about their personal lives.

Why? It's a pertinent question, I just want to assert there is a trend.

Amen.

Natasha Kaplinsky and Kate Silverton seem to get more attention from a small group of people on this forum complaining about the amount of attention that they get than they actually get across all of the television channels, newspapers, magazines and other websites of the world.

At what point is this tedious obsession with them actually going to end?

Please, just go and start a group on Facebook and stop boring us with this tedious vendetta against these women.

Another moan. Another day. Another breathe.

Good idea above poster - If you've got such damn hatred against people you don't even know set up "The BBC <name of presenter> hate society" on facebook.

I wouldn't call them publicity whores. True, Natasha isn't a very good newsreader and Kate's programme last week was a little weird, but I would not call them publicity whores.

Something isn't quite right there.

Well put. Ditto to Spencer for Fire. Always a shame when people let persoanl vendettas get in the way of logic.

It seems as though this is what Natasha always wanted anyway, almost copying Moira Stuart's sincere break down on television when she learnt about her family.

This has to be one of the most contemptible comments I've ever read on TV Forum.

Natasha Kaplinsky had found out that her relatively recent ancestors had been burned to death when Hitler's soldiers had torched the synagogue they were in.

And you're suggesting that in crying at this she was merely trying to copy Moira Stuart's "sincere" breakdown.

I really hope you're thoroughly ashamed of yourself. If you aren't, you f**king should be.

I did say that was understadable that she cried. But my question is, why did it have to be on camera?

And please don't accuse me of heartlessness, my own ancestors were also persecuted under Nazi rule.

Laughing Smmoth edit, shame Spencer quoted it!

How come it's OK for Moira Stewart to do it but not those two?
