Wiki is a good source to find references to more reputable sources though. But a well phrased google enquiry can produce the same.

As for the idea of it being extended to an hour, I think the only way it could work is if it incorporated Working Lunch into it's second half-hour - but I think even with the cost-cutting planned that's quite unlikely.

If the BBC ever considered extending any of their news bulletins to an hour - especially the One O'Clock News - they should just look to the ITV Lunchtime News example. It was so unsuccessful that they decided to revert to 30 minutes, and ITV even had large ad breaks every so often throughout the programme; the BBC would literally have an hour to fill. Somehow, Channel 4 News seems to get away with it but I think that's because they go more in-depth, so they have more material with which to fill the programme. The BBC and ITV are appealing to more mainstream audiences than C4 so that wouldn't work for them.

Let me clear something up...

I personally find wiki to be very unreliable, and so only listen to it if there are souces. However the point of this discussion wasn't to ask if it is to be asked, but to guage what fellow TVF forumers thought about the program.

Wiki simply gave me the idea for a topic - nothing more nothing less.

I hope this has cleared some things up
