Did anybody see the big cock-up on the One O'Clock News today (Thurs. 24th March)? They were showing a report and it suddenly switched to the CBBC studio for about 10 seconds. It was at 1.22pm.
Did anybody else see it or am I going mad? Shocked Confused

And on BBC One Scotland, just as the ident cut to Darren, there was a very brief look at some colour bars and a loud tone. Straangee.... Confused

Yes, I saw that as well. That tone nearly made me go deaf. Laughing What's up with the Beeb these days?Have they employed a junior school kid to do the production work ?

The bars and tone were on BBC London output at the top of the One too. Given a) they were the N6 studio bars, and there's no way the gallery would have been putting that out with a second to air.... and b) there was another cock up later in the output, the options are either - it's a coincidence, or the N6 mixer (desk, not person) was on the blink. Or a third option I haven't thought of....

Maybe they are testing Christopher Columbus automation system out and it went belly up today.

It doesn't bear the hallmarks of a Columbus cock-up - they tend to be freezes, items not playing, wrong item playing - the things you sometimes see on 24.

It's not Columbus. It's much bigger than that.

Yes i did see this. It was a bit odd. I would imagine it was a pres gallery problem rather than the news gallery. I dont think the news gallery would be able to switch to the CBBC studio with out setting it up purposely, would they?
