some decidedly poor quality caps, complete with incorrect aspect ratio, of bbc midlands' hand over to the one show

shame no-one has noticed that the midlands today logo has been sentence case (rather than upper case) for 4 years now.

Peter Levy said twice his show was running until 7PM, which was amusing.
Incredibly dull show. Nadia has such a nasal voice it's hard to concentrate on what she is saying. The items were average and that woman off Dr Who is rubbish at being interviewed. The obligatory disease report was present.
4/10 (plus an extra point from being from Birmingham)

Could not agree more. The whole excuse of shutting Pebble Mill was that they did not need that sort of production facility anymore. Pebble Mill's foyer was fitted out to house exactly this sort of programme. The move to the shoebox has to be one of the biggest c..k ups so far. Hardly progress when you have to build a tacky portakabin on to a 'state of the art' production facility to make a programme which could have been made with very little effort from the Mill.

I think that studio is where we all say "I told you so" re the closure of Pebble Mill.
And why were all of the reports from south of Brum?

Interestingly according to the Radio Times Kate Humble was due to be in Devon all week looking at different wildlife each day. However that's now changed and she's going upto Inverness for Wedensday's programme. Do you think they may of thought 'oh sugar, we haven't got any reports from north of Birmingham, lets move Kate up there' or am i reading too much into it?

The ratings don't look too good in my opinion, although Media Guardian have called them 'solid' and 'repectable'. I'd say they're a bit worrying.. the average was 3.4 million (19%) howevever viewers left during the programme, by 7.15 the audience was 2.9 million (16%). Compare this to the first edition of Trawlermen which had 5 million (27%) and Big Bear Week had 3.8 million (24%). So really i don't think it's looking good. I don't think it's going to get past it's 4 week run.

I watched this with interest, but thought it was very poor indeed. The presenters (especially Sawahla) seemed nervous and ill-at-ease, and the content was very dull and banal. It made Richard and Judy seem slick... and I
hate
Richard and Judy! Yes, as someone further up the thread said, it's better than Emmerdale if you hate said soap (as I do too) but... so is watching paint dry (or, as was suggested a couple of posts back) a window being washed.
3/10.

I think the whole notion of coming from Brum may be to rub the noses of the BBC mandarins in it? Very subtle ?

This show is dyer, if it was a propper "Nationwide" type programme it would probably go down well, but this is a show which is going out at 5 to 7 every weekday night with a poor daytime tv style format.
If the show gets past its 4 week run - and I doubt it - auntie shall probably move it to a daytime slot.
