So how exactly is the hand over to the One Show going to be done? Are the regions going to hand straight over, or will there still be a return to N6, but five minutes earlier than normal, and then the link into the next programme?

Well you only have a few days to wait to find out Smile

It would be nice if Midlands Today could do their own hand over, seeing they're in the same building, or failing that, Nick & Suzanne do something along the lines of 'Well that's all from us for now. There's a quick round up at 725, but very shortly we'll be handing over to the ONE Show, over the other side of the Mailbox(insert live shot of Ade & Nadia), but first back to London & Natasha. Goodbye'

Do we know how the new show is going to be produced given that the main gallery at the mailbox will be dealing with Midlands Today?

An OB truck will be used for mixing 'The ONE Show' on a lower level to the Mailbox temporary studio.

Well weren't too fussed on the show but may improve as time goes on however I don't think it'll last after this 4 week run. But it's worth it alone just to have a National & Regional news and weather update from just the regional teams after. I like quite that. Smile

I think that studio is where we all say "I told you so" re the closure of Pebble Mill.

And why were all of the reports from south of Brum?

Well, I watched it with interst - I thought it was quite good. But disapointed that they didn't do the Headlines, may be this should be built in from London at 7pm a few mins after the intros from birmingham.

The first show looks like its mostly all south of Birmingham!

Christa did the roundup at 7.25 i Could not work out if they were doing a mix of national and regional - i know wales ireland and scotland do this.

Well yes -- the One Show thing was just an obstacle to getting to the local update.

WT usually gives a national update anyway, but the national weather by the regional forecaster was rather nice.

In Wales also the update was done in the small Breakfast studio but with the main studio as keyed-in backdrop, as the news in foreign was using it and about to start at 7.30.

I was a bit disappointed really. Didnt like the set - it didnt help having the sun shining in, plus it just seemed a bit too broad.

Here in the west they had a summary of national and regional news, followed by the national and regional weather - which seemed rather daft considering it was only on half an hour ago and do we really need to know the forecast for Scotland when its only being shown in the west?

In the east we got Stewart White doing national then regional news, followed by a national/regional/european (in that order) forecast which also included surf conditions and tide times. One slight niggle is that we went straight from Stewart into the break. No end sting or anything.

Nice background to the Look East studio though.

But as for the One Show, I didn't really rate it. Pretty useless to be honest. They made a good tits-up of the opt-out IMO. Is it available online?

Here in Look East country, we had two national headlines, along with two regional headlines from Stuart, with a different backdrop. Normally it is a view of the Forum. The backdrop was a blue cloud style, it seemed a cross between the short lived national breakfast and the national network news.

The weather then with Julie which covered the national, regional, regional surfing and high/low tides and the European picture.

That was then followed by a link for the midday show on BBC Radio Norfolk tomorrow, and the evening show on local radio here in the East.

I liked the idea of it all, however I think the weather forecast could have been reduced. Instead of a national picture have a larger region (would be very useful for areas where people get a different region to the norm). I would have preferred a bit more detail on the headlines personally.

North West had Gordon Burns with a national and regional headline update followed by a regional forecast by the weather presenter.

The NWT logo on the projector screen had 'NEWS UPDATE' added to it.

The One Show itself was just boring.
