Sorry, but for me, the best era was back in the ITN days of Alistair, Sandy, Carol, Julia and Trevor.................1980's and early 90's.

Possibly a generational thing - the mid to late 90's was when I really began taking notice of the news - the only thing I remember from broadcast really beforehand was the fantastic intro to the Nine o'clock News before the virtual globe. Thinking about it the One and Six too - I guess my parents watched the BBC mostly up until the mid-90's then!
