Well Komla Dumor didn't stay long - Babita Sharma on Newsday!

Surely because Babita wouldn't have been available at midnight, as wouldn't have been on BBC property before the strike was over? So she wouldn't have been on set, wired-up, made-up etc.

And in Scotland we had someone called Stephen Duffy whoever he is, can't say I've ever seen him before, think he did all the bulletins throughout the day.

Stephen is a presenter on BBC Radio Scotland. He is the only person to present Reporting Scotland on all four strike days since the end of last year.

Here is his profile on the BBC website: >click<

Many thanks for that - I actually had no idea that they'd created a PIDLE sting for the current graphics set.

I think that's another word for the TV Forum acronym roll-over feature.

Indeed - I'm probably being thick but I don't know what PIDLE means.

Programme Interruption Device Live Event, if I recall correctly. I remember seeing the PIDLE stings during the 2000-2003 and 2003-2007 eras but I've not seen one for a long time. There used to be two versions; one said "BREAKING NEWS" and the other "LIVE COVERAGE".

Indeed, depending on who you talk to at the Beeb, it's either "Presentation Interruption Device - Live Event", or "Programme Interruption Due to Live Event". An early example on BBC World is available here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpOQx6yqVmo - courtesy of itsrobert, no less.

I haven't seen one for years, so I'd assumed they'd removed it from the available pres resources at the 2008 refresh.

Certainly looks a lot smarter than the way the News channel just abruptly stop or crash out of something to bring you Breaking News!

Has it been mentioned that viewers of Look North (NE and Cumbria) joined Peter Levy for their 6:30 bulletin yesterday? NE and Cumbria were unable to provide their own bulletin, so they took Yorkshire and Lincolnshires. I hope to have it all up on TVPres.UK tomorrow. I apologize for it taking longer than it should do.

Thanks for that and I agree does look cleaner than just crashing out.
