I've not watched any BBC NI news output before, but a nice version of the BBC News look they have:

Not that keen on the swirling results DOG thing they have, bottom left. Feels a little fast.

The other graphics look decent too:

Programmes are available via the Results Live page on the website.

Nice looking graphics! Their rotating results tower stands out as something from the 90's though with the border bevel. Im not a fan.

I think it's very BBC News 24 2003 in motion.

Can someone tell me what the Election logo is supposed to represent?

That rotating results tower is awful! Shame as the rest of the graphics look decent. Why not follow the national model of running those stats along the bottom above where the ticker normally sits?

R for Remain and L for Leave... it wouldn't have taken much to turn it into an N and an I.

But it's not actually the same as the Referendum logo . . .

even after you add the 'L' in the blue or gold blocks after the result.

The NI logo looks more like N & L.

Edit: I'm not the wiser by watching it form up in 3D in the title sequence. Shocked

The rest of the graphics scheme is Giant's Causeway-themed with its basalt columns - always assumed that they tried to make the cube resemble one of the columns.

Incidentally the News Channel simulcast BBC One NI for a while around 8pm.

Thought it was the same as the bbc used for the English local elections last year. As in "L" for "Local".

Possibly the best explanation, Richard.

I wouldn't have though 'local' was a suitable description for a national assembly, but it's probably the best fit. Very Happy
