No it's not a CSO background which is quite nice but the whole thing feels a bit cold. And yes, the 1970s mustard velour sofa is horrible.

The sofa shape is nice, but the material and fabric is just horrible.

It looks like it's been lifted out of the reception at Havelock (if you've been in you'll know what I mean) and had that awful tacky blue lighting added.

You'd think they'd give the set a bit more of a home than just a desk and sofa plonked against a blue printed sheet that looks like it was designed in 5 minutes.

I love the fact you can see adrians' mic cable in one shot then it's disappeared behind the sofa!

The plasmas are way too dark, they need their brightness turned up, but interestingly if you look at one of them you can see the UTV live logo has been burnt into it. Oops.

Also <sigh> the font used on the backdrop for live is different than the actual on screen version.

I love the new look, and it was about that it needed changed, I dont think the sofa looks too bad but looks very uncomfortable when interviewing someone. The floor is really shiny which is good but the bakcdrop looks a bit big making the presenters look really small. I think the desk should've been changed though. And as said before the screens need brightened. This change I think is lovely and looks better than the itv regions IMO.

What is the point of the nasty, garish MUSTARD sofa which looks more at home in an LWT-type mid 1990s series while the rest of the set is predominantly blue? It has to go.

I presume the graphics have remained the same.

So much for spending 250K on changing studios when half of the set is "recycled".

I hope this is a temporary set until the new set is revealed later in the year.

They have indeed Col, unfortunately! I don't mind the opening titles but the astons I would certainly like to see the back of!

I was just having another look at the press release about the studio changes and it does say that Studio One will also be housing the set for Insight and their new current affairs show L8 and Live. I wonder if that backdrop is easily changed or is there another set built in there somewhere? Is the studio big enough?

That backdrop is just on a curtain so for other shows can easily be pulled away and the other sets put in place!

I think they should have totally transformed the show.
Maybe have it tie in with the channels graphics?
And, they should make the whole show a bit brighter.

That sofa is even worse on screen than it looks in those stills, and the copies of celebrity magazines lying on the table just add to the tackyness!

Still, you'd think they'd fix the music, the end of the main titles is just a random piano thump that sounds so out of place with no following bed!
