To give him his dues, Graham is a decent journalist, when I lived in Enniskillen for a while, where he started his career at the Impartial Reporter, the locals were very proud to see him do well for himself.
Doesn't his brother play for Ballinamallard United? I remember seeing a report on the Milk Cup a few years ago where Graham showed his brother off to camera...
Something I've noticed while watching UTV Live this evening, on some days when handing over from the sofa area, the main presenters remain sat at the desk, while on some occasions, they stand in front of the desk - does this often swap about?
Kate and Pamela are back as well from the looks of it...
Has anyone else noticed during the weather watchers section that the there seems to be a jump between slides? On Friday's forecast, there were frames of weather maps appearing during the Weather Watchers section. Or is this just on the Internet stream?
From next week I will be able to see if this happens on screen...

Yeah Col it has been happening for a while now. It seems to cut to black in between each slide. Here's some caps to show what I'm on about...
It looks like they smoothed out the switching problems during the Weather Watchers this evening.
Also noted an OB to the newsroom at "Scottish Television" where Paul Clark spent most of the interview trying to interrupt the interviewee - the two-way graphic showed the Studio 2 and STV newsroom in the wrong screen ratios. Does anyone know if the camera set-up at STV was true 16:9?
It looked crystal clear 16:9 to me Colm. Nice to see the live interview, though I did think after 10 minutes on the story (on the introduction of average speed cameras on our A1) was it a particularly quiet news day - probably was.

The 2-way graphics have looked like that since they introduced them a few months ago and it looks awful. Even through all the reincarnations they have never fixed this problem!
Back home for a few days so getting my fill of UTV Live and Newsline.
Interesting to see UTV sent Paul Clark up a crane to report live from Newry tonight, used special graphics to lead into the reports on the incendiary devices, with Kate Smith on her own in the studio. Well done by UTV standards I thought.
Newsline didn't appear to have one host in the studio and one in Newry - I think Conor Macauley did an OB from Newry this evening. Also like Karen Patterson's haircut - really suits her.
Another day, another major news story - and UTV Live covered it well. Good to see most of the programme devoted to the flight delays across all of the airports - another live OB, they are starting to beat Newsline at their own game! Wasn't keen on the "More on u.tv and U105" DOG on the top left corner of the screen during most of the show, hope they were able to do that in the context of a news programme.
Also noted a new reporter on the Features section - Thomas Niblock - possibly the new graduate from the Newspaper Journalism course at the University of Ulster in Coleraine - meaning I held a seminar with him and his colleagues last October about getting employment following the course
And Siobhan ended up doing the weather tonight - was this her first time?
