Ian Payne done really well on the late news - Tyne Tees Border seems to be finding its feet at last. And as ever the regional news offering a different perspective and knowledge of the local community the national teams can't match.

Likes of the cumbria shootings etc and this one, you would think and hope the pan-regional's would be good because both regions are together, and there is plenty of resources

All pan-regionals (such as Sir Bobby Robson and the Cumbria floods, all been done superbly.)

Ian Payne you could see was everywhere on bbc news and in the itv news reports.

The guy is caught now and I am sure Ian is still there. Pip on her Twitter said she was preparing the late bulletin and still working (that was at like 11pm, She done the lunchtime news, so you think it has been a 12, 13 hour day for her too..)

Again, Most (not all) of the big news events, Pam Royle has been missing heavily, I presume she is on holiday this week.

Ian Payne still on the go after 3am. Probably feature with Kenny Toal later on today in the teatime bulletin.

An Earry Pan-regional with Ian by himself in the studio and many hours of Raoul Moat voice recordings.

PIP in the newsroom, with the rest of the days news. Has a weird yellow box beside. Maybe she isn't in the newsroom, looks a bit fakey b/g?

EDIT:

That looks atrocious, the box is probably a graphic overlay.

A brief tribute and thank you to Pam Royle at the end of NET tonight - Ian said she had 'been with us' (or words to that effect) for 21 years. She was working at Tyne Tees (weather presenter and occasional CA) back in 1983-84 before she worked down south for a while, so I'm guessing she's been a regular on the News since 1989.

Did Lookaround viewers get this at all? Some would probably be baffled by that statement as they've only seen Pam on the news for about 18 months!

She's been on the news forever, I can remember her vaguely on Northern Life with Paul Frost. This is the first I've heard she was leaving, not seen it mentioned anywhere. Shocked

EDIT; is she leaving or is it just a tribute she's been there for 21 years?

She's not leaving, no.. it was a tribute to the fact that yesterday was her 21st anniversary of working on the news.

I never seen Monday, was away in Greece on holiday. At the end of tonight's programme they mentioned how 'the boss' sent flowers etc despite being on holiday.

It wouldn't of sounded bad if they said "Pam..... has worked for 21 years on Tyne Tees and Border" but if Ian did say: "been with us for 21 years" then does sound strange for the Border lot.

Has Pam never maybe cropped up on Border at all, when Tyne Tees showed some of their programmes on Border?

It's possible, but I doubt she'd be a household name in Borderland before last year. Incidentally, she was on GMTV the other morning (live link from Newcastle) - can't remember what she was reporting though - but it was part of the national broadcast.
