Special programme live from Whitehaven tonight, double-headed by Pam and Ian.

The Lookaround titles were played out on Tyne Tees... not the time to be complaining about such things, obviously. Perhaps omitting the titles would have been best; the music was pretty jarring given the solemn presenting tone.

Yeah somber occasion... Ironically we had black screen and Pam and Ian appeared then North East Tonight titles on Border.

Tyne Tees and Border news for the late bulletin, isn't it normally Lookaround and NET respectively for the late news?

Yes, on the odd occasion the TT&B Pan-regionals have happened for the late news (Like the floods etc)

I agree they should have not shown titles at all, or at the very beginning. Apart from a bit mix up in the opening min, Me and Jonny Agree... Journalisitically (if that is a word) tonight, faultless.

Looked like another pan-regional tonight with Ian and Kate outside the church in Egremont and Helen Ford in Gateshead. Towards the end Helen tried to hand back to Egremont - we got pictures but not from the camera Ian and Kate were looking at, and they obviously didn't know they were on air. Cue back to Gateshead and Helen Ford ad-libbing for around five minutes - she did well.

Indeed, I am Helen's biggest critic!! But she done well last 5 mins and on the late bulletin. Ian still looks a bit shellshocked with everything, sounds like biggest news story he has done.

Yes the youtube group are a university with access to the border vaults, they have lookaround episodes etc. (carlisle floods 2005 and foot and mouth 2001)

I have been uploading on youtube myself a border news from 2003 (and the sports coverage vastly better then! - the saturday bulletin was basically all sport!) also a late bulletin from 2005.

I have not been around at lunchtimes, days when ITV has a world cup game at 12.30 has the regional news been jettisoned?
