God, that NET promo is horrible. Lots of nasty lens flares, 'news that matters to you' and the baffling proclamation that local news 'all the way from North Northumberland to North Yorkshire' is somehow better than what we had. Even Pam didn't look impressed.
Still, what can you expect with a budget of 50p and library access to Windows Movie Maker.
It's still there although I doubt it will be tomorrow .

Do they still have the spotlight on the Tyne Tees studio floor wideshot (or as wide as you've ever been able to get with these studios) saying 'ITV Tyne Tees', or was that dropped a while back? It wouldn't aid their attempts to cover up the changes much.

I'm not sure what you mean by that sentence. Westcountry staff did care about the studios closing and ITV news moving right away from the region.
If they had been allowed to express an opinion about on air about the cuts I think they would have.
Re the end of Lookaround from Border . Adam Powells sign off ' This Was Adam Powell for Lookaround ' was the most noticeable goodbye.
Yes i'm sure Westcountry staff did care about the studios closing and the last show on the Friday at six was quite sad i thought and both presenters were clearly upset. But i don't think they realy cared about what ITV thought regarding tributes etc .The late bulletin on their last Friday was only a tribute about Westcountry Television there was NO news .
I thought Miranda Wilsons was the most noticable goodbye she actually said at the end of the bulletin that was her last one as she was leaving and she had loved working at Border and thanks for watching.

Not strictly true a young female newsreader said goodbye the other week. She said that she was sorry to be going that was on a late bulletin.
Then the other day Heather Larcombe said just time to say goodbye to ..........our engineer who has worked here for 20yrs.
I felt that on tonights show they could have said something to mark the end of Lookaround from Carlisle .I must admit i thought that Fiona did look well p****d off during the programme.I think she just probably wanted to say F*** ITV and what a way to treat us at Border after all these years .All a facade. I must admit i felt sorry for them especially Fiona she is great.
Does anyone know if that cute guy with the tan and cropped hair is leaving i think his name is Lee.
I suppose the staff at Westcountry didn't care as they were all leaving anyway .

I think Heather Larcombe should have Presented the last bulletin from Border .
Kim just said from all of us at Border thanks for watching goodnight. I know that is NOT her fault though as they were instructed not to say anything.
But how ridiculous not to mention it after all the years of broadcasting from Carlisle.

Lee Madan he's very cute .
I can't see "our familar lookaround faces" Presenting much Lookaround in the future .Infact if i were them i would be looking around behind their backs.I see more cutbacks coming. This new programme is nothing more than a load of old crap especially for south Scotland viewers.
It reminds me of the way they sold us Border Scotland to shut us up They never realy used it much i recall a couple of years back we never even got the STV Capital New Year show on Hogmanay we went with the network .
That's the way i see this new set up going i think in time Fiona and Tim will go and it will be a couple of reporters and a bulletin presenter all very junior and on a cheap salary .Keeping Fiona and Tim is just to please the locals for now .

Did they mention anything on the main edition of Look North? Fiona is indeed great and im going to miss her as I dont think she will pop up that much.
Funky Guy, I think you mean Lee Madan - presenting bulletins lately? Hes kept his job as have a lot of the young journalists. Each one is going to have an area of the border region to cover. There is about 7 or so. But they arent what I would call familiar to us and wont be around long as most young ones leave Border after a few years (mainly to Granada!).
Looks like Jonathan (left?) and Adam are leaving as they probably got a bit of redundancy and thought it was better to leave on a high?
Does anyone think that 'our familiar lookaround faces' will get to present the lookaround again?
