When you start complaining about email addresses it's time to cut back on the rants Wink.

pip@itv.com is short, memorable and the only smidgen of individuality remaining.

Well I think atleast Alex Watson should have her own...

Well maybe he thinks there isn't a future for ITV regional news? Or he fancies a change?

She and Pip are so obviously not in their comfort zones. Shocking compared to the Leeds team (current and past)

Do you not think that the whole thing is a ragbag?
Former reporters/presenters now doing the weather, people who shouldn't be reading news acting as anchors, recorded chunks of the show and a patch that is far too big.
Whenever I turn it on I am shocked at the lack of hard news in the show.
It wasn't perfect before the changes but I find myself turning to Look North for news-and that's far from perfect!

After being on a terminal decline for the last 5 years, the merger finally killed off NET once and for all. It was just about watchable before, with the right balance of news and fluff but the February changes proved to be one budget cut too many. Look North is a far superior programme.

Is this the same Look North that is currently presented by Jeff Brown, the sports reporter?

From a Scottish Borders point of view the new programme is a disaster. The South of Scotland is even motre marginalised than before. It's odd that OFCOM allowed the switch from Border to Granada in the Isle of Man, yet, when surveys showed that viewers in the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway did NOT want the merged news service but STV if a stand-alone Lookaround had to go, they say we're saddled with the current arrangement until 2013. Another question....what is the purpose of "Border Scotland"? It was used for South of Scotland news opts, as well as programming variations, usually sport. But ITV won't give us coverage of Scottish rugby screened in the rest of Scotland. ITV Wales still has about two hours of separate programming. Why are south-of-Scotland viewers treated like aliens in their own country?

Fantastic Point, ever since the merger and the ITV / STV Dispute the regional opt outs for Border Scottish (football etc) have not happened. It annoys me coz ive had to go to the extra channels to watch 'stv rugby' on sunday nights.

I think acctually in the 15mins opt out the Scottish Borders hasn't been as affected as much.. We tend to get maybe 5mins scottish news... (About the same as before with th e old Lookaround)

STV seem to be cashstrapped but want to create a new News programme for The Highlands and islands. I think they could make a southern Scotland news too...

When u think about it here in the south of scotland we still get more coverage from TT&B than we do from reporting scotland.

Why not? It's not uncommon for journalists to go into teaching. Not everyone has a career path that end in 'being on TV'
