The problem is, in reality, Border has ended. It is now part of the nonsensical 'Tyne Tees and Border' region, the Harraby studios in Carlisle have closed and relocated to a slimmed-down operation based in an industrial estate on the city outskirts, it no longer makes any regional programmes and its local news programme is broadcast from outwith the old Border TV area, in Gateshead. The station exists in name only, and if at some stage southern Scotland becomes part of STV, there will be no need for the Border name any longer.
Tonight on Lookaround saw the grand opening of Border's new 'smaller' digital newsroom. there was memories from Border as if it was it ending! Tim Backshall and Fiona Armstrong - like the old times - where live at the opening of the new building
