Also uploaded on youtube is a bulletin from gmtv this morning - Rachel Bullocks autocue failed! She had to trundle through most of the bulletin with her head in the script!

As cock-ups go, it's hardly going to win the Ginny Buckley cock-up of the year award is it?

Some of the detail is nauseating - you'd think human beings were new to the North East on TV.

Pam Royle has been on holiday and was ill upon returning. Apparently, a local newspaper said she has swine flu. She appeared via telephone last night dismissing the rumours. She is still absent.

Weather presenter Sara Thornton left BBC North East and Cumbria In June following the return of Trai Anfield who returned this month following a one year break. It looks as though Carol Malia has left for maternity leave now then.

That could explain her extended absence... Where was Pam on the phone to?
If she has got swine flu wouldn't the rest of the presenters/crew need to be tested?

She's said she hasn't got it, so your question is moot.

Tonight on Lookaround saw the grand opening of Border's new 'smaller' digital newsroom. there was memories from Border as if it was it ending! Tim Backshall and Fiona Armstrong - like the old times - where live at the opening of the new building

(Note the video is low quality, because it was a big file in the first place - higher quality video is available - click my youtube link!)

They've really botched their new sign, haven't they? Does poor Border not have the ITV font?

Then again, it's nice to see some independence!

That looks like a lock-up on an industrial estate outside Carlisle, not the franchise base for a regional broadcaster.

They don't seem to have any studio facilities, just that CSO section adjoining the sparse newsroom, although they covered up the green screen with a beige curtain for that report.

You have to ask why they bother, unless it's a contractual requirement that for seem reason Ofcom are holding them to.

That is a Scotchlite sheet - Green LED's will project into it and reflect back into the camera, saving money on lighting.

Is border now putting itv.com/border under the Lookaround dog?
I have checked and the itv.com/local website still isn't finished.
