I know Last Night there was a PEB at 6.25 (UKIP ?!?!?!) but the promised 15-18 mins of opt outs where not carried through!!! Mad I know somenights they have struggled and switched as soon as it hits 6.15 but tonight when the holding graphic came up my sky EPG had 6.13!!

Minor but its not keeping to the promise!

I dont think they are actually required by Ofcom to provide the split service. As it was more a measure to appease viewers in the border region.

Yes they are!

1.12 The pattern of delivery of Channel 3 regional news in England and Southern Scotland, with effect from within the first quarter of 2009, will therefore be:

Border and Tyne Tees areas will be served by a single regional main weekday news bulletin, containing variations of 15 minutes for each of the Border and Tyne Tees areas, and by a separate 9 minute bulletin after News at Ten

I don't know if there is an exception as it was on to 6.25 only?

As everyone found with the CITV quotas, Ofcom generally does their timing quotas as an average of the whole year and doesn't care on a day to day basis. So if they're even bothering to track it (not all that likely realistically), ITV would only need to run some longer bulletins towards the end of the year to balance it back out. Most likely they're hoping a couple of big news events will pop up in the regions over the course of the year, allowing this redress to be achieved easily from having a full 30 minute programme in the region on that day (whilst simultaneously scoring brownie points).

I see they've wheeled out that pompous Tim whatever his name is for this afternoons bulletin. I've never seen Fiona front a bulletin yet.

Oi Tim Backshall is a Border stalwart and you wont seem Fiona presenting bulletins as she doesn't 'do' bulletins.

You can have your stalwart back! He's simply horrendous. It seems Fiona doesn't do anything. Not seen much of her at all since the merge, which is a blessing I guess from what I did manage to see of her before the merge. Cool
