Oh yes that was the best era - Tina Bangs or Nigel Jay on breakfast, Martin Henfield on lates and Julia Sharp on weekends.

Becky Barr is to leave BBC NWT before September to become a full time firefighter. I wonder who will be Annabel's deputy now.

Graham Liver presented last night's late bulletin. He usually presents the morning breakfast show on BBC Radio Lancashire - is it normal to use presenters from local radio stations on air?

Yes. Lots of precedent for that kind of thing.

IIRC he presented a few Look North bulletins as well whilst he was a presenter at Radio Leeds.

His predecessor in that slot on Radio Leeds, John Boyd, was the regular presenter of Look North Saturday.

And before him it was a certain Peter Levy who was also doing Look North breakfast.

90 seconds to get to the story. Granada actually dropped their headlines on Friday and went straight into the story off the back of the titles.

Pedantic maybe but BBC news making a point that East Midlands have a Weather warning. Also, on the BBC app, BBC Derby seem to have been credited the story.

Just observations when in fact it is very much a North West story rather than a Midlands one.

On a side note, I notice the new NWT titles name check Bakewell. I thought the town was Look North/Calendar territory with Buxton being NWT/Granada.

Bakewell is served (for TV and Radio) by the Stanton Moor transmitter. East Midlands for BBC and ITV, BBC Radio Derby, and Peak FM for local radio, and the Derby mux for local DAB
