Gordon worked almost 365 days last year, so I think this has probably affected his voice. He takes much less time off than others, and presents 5 days a week!!! Saying that, I cant remember the last time Tina was off!!

I think that Stuart and Annabel should do the 6, with annabel on the 10 and stuart on the 1 as well, with Tina and Peter filling in as neccesary. Carol should fill the gap of head reporter, Gordon/Tina at weekends and Nigel on breakfast. Does anybody have any caps of the "Breakfast Broomcupboard" era??

I can see Gordon leaving and Annabel replacing him to be honest. With Gordon the show is dull and just plods along, but Annabel has really brought it to life and would suit the show if it was to adopt a style similar to that of South Today or Look North NE&C.

They seem to have no desire to experiment on NWT. All other regions have snazzy sets and slicker direction, hopefully the last week has shown that they are willing to change and bring themselves right up to date.

Indeed, it is perculiar that as soon as Gordon's gone, they're experimenting. Perhaps he isn't comfortable with moving around the set so much. Friday's programme was excellent in terms of set use - they started with the desk, but used more camera angles than usual. Then, Annabel moved over to the softer area and did an interview, threw to the sport, and the weather (that was a great camera shot). And, rather than going back to the desk for the end, Dianne joined Annabel on the soft set. Much better.

Yes, NWT really has been good with Annabel on. In the past few weeks, when Gordon has been on, he did seem quite bored. How old will he be now?
Maybe he's getting fed up of NWT. After all, he does do the lunchtime bulletin, the 3.20 summary and NWT. Wonder if he'll be cutting back on his hours?

He's 61.

Gosh! He looks younger than that!

He does look a lot younger.

Had a shock after the titles on tonight's programme - Stuart was perched on the desk! It's unbelievable how much NWT has changed in a week, and it's all for the better. Well done BBC Manchester!

And what an awful lot of Warrington stories -- I'm sure I can think of someone who'll be pleased.

Mind you -- a bit sad when the programme picks up loads when Gordon goes away for a bit. Perhaps it's just coincidental and he'll continue with the interesting bits they're now doing. Doubt it though.

Indeed - I too somehow doubt that Gordon will continue with this new style. I'd love to be proved wrong though!

Yeah, there were quite a few Warrington packages - despite sitting at the traffic lights they featured in Great Sankey, I've never spotted that the four buildings on the crossroads begin with the letter 'p'! The answers: parish church, post office, pub and police station!

I was also interested in that last report on skulls and bones - only put the sound up when I saw Piotr Bienkowski. I worked with him several years ago on my work experience.

I saw Stuart on the desk at 6.30pm and I really liked that, it made it look far better, plus I didn't realise how narrow the chair was!

I didn't know about the W'ton stories, as I was watching Channel M News for the first time.

Though I saw the end of it last night, Stuart was off last week as he was on holiday in Croatia, hence why Annabel was presenting.

...and Gordon's back. Sat at the desk for lunchtime.
