No North Tonight Headlines

Once again Grampian cocked up with no headline spot on the Evening news tonight.......looks loike they forgot again!! This once excellent programme is now pathetic........well done SMG!!!

London I presume. If not, they may have a clean version with no regional insert (SMG have a clean ITV1 feed).

All we got was a North Tonight caption so they were on air just no headlines.........probably the presenter never showed up in the studio.......this happens often during the opt out on GMTV!!

Unlike the BBC, London Tonight isn't on the dirty feed, you just get the animating squares

what's a dirty fed?

A feed from London with promos, idents, ECPs, regional inserts etc etc. The clean feed is without most of that.

so STV Must have a clean one as I have never seen anything ITV on stv!

You are correct.

Occasionally when theres something wrong with the clean feed, we get the ITV1 ECP though.

On the odd occassion I've seen the ITV News with the regional opt-out missing you usually just get the animated ITV News squares/globe for the duration.

When they do work though, the ITV News headline sequence incorporates the regional segment seemlessly, unlike the BBC which often changes headline bed as they switch to the regions and sounds awful!
