Mmm...North Today; they may as well just call the whole service North Today and be done with it! The money they'd save on a sole set of graphics would let Norman buy Pauline some roses for Valentines Day!
I notice the credits were at the end of the show tonight.
As for summer relaunch...well I was going on both Scottish and Grampian's annual report which states that the opt outs will take place in January 2007. It seems silly revamping three times within a year. In saying that, it is pretty daft even doing a mini revamp before the opt out happens!

Well I would think that there will be a new set when ST moves in the summer?
Mind you when Grampian left Queens Cross NT only got a slight makeover!
I agree with your thoughts Barney about anything is possible with SMG channels.
The new titles are good though. North Tonight can never claim to have good titles. When my namesake was at the helm with John Duncanson - the sequences were dire!! Boats, a compass, tractors and dodgey music throughout the eighties and early nineties.
SMG has at least brought in some decent graphics for the viewers in the north!
I remember when SMG first bought Grampian that quite a few shows from the north were broadcast down here, and some of them were incredibly antiquated. North Tonight, as mentioned, had the most antiquated set and titles, Top Club was hysterical and there was really cheaply produced coverage of a Highland League match.
SMG has certainly dragged Grampian into the 21st century, but at a cost - there really aren't any proper regional programmes left.

Well I would hardly say that SMG has been good for Grampian!! Come on.....maybe Top Club was laughable but did you stop and watch anything that has been produced by SMG over the past few months......I saw the Scottish fashion awards the other night..........now you can talk hysterical!!!!
