The sports graphics vary quite widely from region to region - there doesn't seem to be a standard for them as such.

I notice tynetees.tv still has photos of city road all over it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start tinkering with the set and the graphics soon. TTTV are not known for bowing to London.


Look North's weather summary graphics. Are these standard accross all English regions or are they a Newcastle special? I've never seen them used in Scotland

I got in from my part-time Newcastle working job tonight and switched on North East Tonight when I caught the last bit about "Mike Neville being in hospital" and stand-in newsgirl Pam Royle and weather forecaster Bob "guy dreich" Johnson were wanting him to make a recovery. Anyone see it? What was the first part about Mike's 'illness'.

Mike Neville being in hospital is the main headline on the local newspaper. Huge picture of him on the front too. The newspaper says its not heart related, although it doesn't say exactly whats wrong with him other than he was rushed in yesterday and has had an operation.

Newcastle Evening Chronicle. Funny, I noticed Mike was looking a bit grey in recent weeks.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "Get Well Soon, Mike". We've already lost two regional TV legends in recent weeks (Richard Whiteley and Ian Stirling), and we don't want to lose another one! Shocked

I also caught the end of North East Tonight and was worried when I heard Pam and Bob's talk about Mike, I know he'd been off a few weeks ago on sick leave before the move to Gateshead and came back for the last City Road episode, but I had no idea it would lead to this.

I hope Mike makes a good recovery and returns to our screens soon.

Was anything said by C*rol M*lia on LN? As Mike was with LN for so many years one would expect there might be some mention of it.
