North East Tonight and BBC Look North (NE&C) thread

North East Tonight (North) has been improving recently. They seem to be reporting the main stories. And focusing on what matters - instead of random junk News.

Also does the topic starter mikeneville not post on TV Forum anymore - as I haven't read any messages from him on the website recently.

Well I deactivated my TyneTeesTelevision user because it was well too long to keep typing in, plus I'm MikeGNE on every other forum. I was originally Tyne Tees Television, but when everyone had to sign up again...

After that short history of me I can say... ...I've never been mikeneville so I don't know who he is. But I do remember him on here.

Well I've just been watching the lunchtime news with Edward Baren. It comes to the end of the programme, and as normal the weather finishes. (Without their sponsor). Then it cut to a black screen for a few secounds, followed by a massive ITV1 logo (still with the black background). Then it cut to the rest of an advert..

North East Tonight (North) this evening had technical problems with the opening sequence.

That's terrible, did it affect your enjoyment of the show though?

They must be clutching at straws for news items to resort to reporting about Celeb Big Brother on North East Tonight..

I reckon Look North should be for the North East only and Cumbria should get North West Tonight,

North West Tonight was tried in Cumbria, it was unpopular that's why they got Look North back. In the days of NWT, Cumbria got even less coverage and actually get quite a bit from Look North NE&C

I watch NWT via Sky and Cumbria is mentioned quite alot, infact Whitehaven is often on their weather map!
I remember the good old days of NWT when Stuart Hall was a presenter and I thought we got pritty good coverage,
Look North is ok but i dont like this business of one half of the county getting Look North and the other getting North West Tonight.
Cumbria is in the North West after all so we should get the North West news service.
