I wish they'd just have the main NET presenters running Monday to Thursday. And covers on friday, e.g Kenny Toal, Kim Inglis, Andy Kluz, Alex Watson and so on.

Why? What would be the point of that?

Because you barely see some of the presenters and having same presenters each evening gets boring and some decent presenters seem to be hidden away now.

Well none of the above that you mention are technically presenters. They are merely reporters, who have filled the presenting roles as back up.

I do however find it strange that on some occasions they have to import Vicky Locklin back to the region to cover weekends when they have a relatively large pool of staff of their own that they could use. No offence to Vicky because I think that she's quite good but if she chose Yorkshire over Tyne Tees, then why does she feel the need to continue her links with the north east?

I wondered where she'd gone! I realise they're reporters but its nice to see different faces.

I'm liking the new camera angles they seem to be slipping into North East Tonight.

Also i've heard from a friend at Tyne Tees that the revamped website is ready, but a piece of filming from the newsroom has not been finished yet (to promote it) - So this shall be soon I hope.

Does Andy Kluz still work at Tyne Tees? Havent seen him in a while.

Does anyone have caps when ITV Tyne Tees first moved into the Gateshead studios in July (2005?).
When Alex Watson did the first news programme..

That website says Mark Warr presented the first news programme as part of GMTV (when they moved studios!)
But really, it was Alex Watson on the saturday lunchtime news!!

Well looking at the size of the new ITV logo on the idents.. are they going to be able to fit "Tyne Tees" under it.. I doubt they'll bring the ident back before the local news, although it did look a lot better when they had one.

Was NET region wide tonight? No North or South versions? Just looked at the Tyne Tees website, and there doesn't seem to be any south version...

No there were 2 editions as usual. Both were dominated by the murder of four in Kenton though.

Tyne Tees North presented by Jonathan with Pip reporting from the murder scene

Tyne Tees South presented by Pam and Ian with Pip reporting from Newcastle as the main story.
