Having had dealings with a few local ITV outlets, its amazing how different these stations can be. YTV are helpful, and staff seem to go out of their way to be helpful, Central also are the same. TTTV.. compared are utterly useless.

Surely that is because YTV started a trend of raping Tyne Tees and cutting everything to the bone. If the resource isn't available to them (Tyne Tees) what do you expect? You can hardly expect Pam Royle to be sat at her desk sending out ITV Tyne Tees goodies and answering queries.

So Central can manage it, but TTTV can't?

Central have always had more resource than Tyne Tees so in effect the answer must be yes.

the carlton regions duty office was based at central, does anyone know if they have kept it there - if so it could be a reason why there might be more of an infrastructure to answer central queries as opposed to other regions?

Yes, the ITV Duty Office is at Gas Street, Birmingham. As evidenced here : http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=5

Well they're not that far ahead these days, the Duty Office is a separate system, certainly when I've delt with Central its been them and not the DO. Also it seems to be more Central News based, so its a case TTTV news team are not interested in that side of their roles anymore or they're not told to be unlike Central.

or perhaps so underresourced, as to the website, a lot of out of date pages, with lots of photos of City Road and some very old photos there, does anyone know why Tyne Tees continue to have their own website?

I've always assumed TTTV have been left with a skeleton web team unlike the other regions because of them having Signpost BSL there, which needs its own site (and was looking fairly swish last time I saw it).

Out of interest, have we seen any new regional BBC One idents yet in these parts? I'm interested to know if it's still 'NE & Cumbria', or if the full 'North East & Cumbria' has been reinstated (given that the NI abbreviation has also been dropped).

Yep was a trailer for Inside Out following today's lunchtime Look North. Still shown as NE & Cumbria.

Andy Kerr doing the sport on Sunday's North East Tonight wearing a suit and ....white trainers!!!

While he might have thought that by keeping his legs outstretched under the desk / table, that might have fooled most, the closing camera angle showed Andy's trainers in all their glory!!

What was that all about?

I wish they'd just have the main NET presenters running Monday to Thursday. And covers on friday, e.g Kenny Toal, Kim Inglis, Andy Kluz, Alex Watson and so on.

Why? What would be the point of that?
