One thing I would say is that Tyne Tees should get a new media company working for them.

Not content with posting the Tyne Tees south billboards in the Tyne Tees north patch, many of the ones I have seen around Gateshead have been flapping around. They musn't have used strong enough paste or sumthin.

Saw one Tyne Tees south poster on the A184 being replaced by a north poster and it was hanging off 24 hours later!!!

And on that note, taken last week from the board just down from the Gateshead Interchange...

Yep that's the one I was talking about Tesandco. The Pam & Ian poster was replaced by a Phillipa & Jonathan one, but its coming away just like the one pictured.

If I was at Tyne Tees and had spent good money on this campaign, I would be well p!ssed off.

Well the flapping Phillipa & Jonathan poster has been replaced. By another Pam & Ian one!!!

Ooh no. I'd never have anything to do with that sort of thing. Makes me queasy just thinking of it.

That, sadly, has been a word used quite a bit to describe Tyne Tees in one way or another since around 2004.

Having had dealings with a few local ITV outlets, its amazing how different these stations can be. YTV are helpful, and staff seem to go out of their way to be helpful, Central also are the same. TTTV.. compared are utterly useless.

And that is doubly sad because TTTV used to be one of the most friendly and helpful companies around.

Yes, I was sad about its decline, a lovely Press/Public Relations officer called Cathy, I've never forgot how helpful she was.

In 1996 when it changed its name to CH3NE, I wrote asking if there was anything I could have to "remember" TTTV by, she sent out a load of stuff with the logo on, pens, tie pins, presenter photos and a letter explaining why Y-TTTV had decided to change its name.

Today, you'd be lucky to get a reply at all.

Surely that is because YTV started a trend of raping Tyne Tees and cutting everything to the bone. If the resource isn't available to them (Tyne Tees) what do you expect? You can hardly expect Pam Royle to be sat at her desk sending out ITV Tyne Tees goodies and answering queries.

Incidentally on Wednesday and Thursday's North East Tonight, the programme promoted a webchat that was due to take place on www.tynetees.tv after Thursday's programme. It was something to do with new age discrimination laws in the workplace.

Whilst this isn't really a subject of interest to me, I was interested to see how it was running on the website but I couldn't even find any reference to it!

The Tyne Tees website really does need to be updated. It still has some very old looking presenter profiles including that of Mike Neville and Dave Goldring (haven't seen him for ages). I would have expected that given the North East Tonight relaunch, that this was one of the the first things to have been updated.

So Central can manage it, but TTTV can't?

I emailed them regarding this and got an email back the next day saying they were just finishing a brand new site...
