Kerrie's been in Gateshead this week, having studio chats with Pam and Kenny/Ben before the forecast - don't know if she's also doing the forecasts on Calendar as my digibox has lost its YTV signal.

Jon did a chat from the "weather centre" this evening, looked a bit silly though, chat - weather sting - forecast.

Then back to Jon Mitchell, shared with Calendar, yesterday. Tonight, it's Kerrie for TTTV/Border viewers and Jon on YTV only; Kerrie pointing out the new address to send weather-themed pictures too: weatherpics@itv.com - like on Calendar.

No real indication then on a dedicated TTTV/Border weather presenter post-Pip, then.

Claire Montgomery making a rare appearance today, news presenting, they have been using different pairings each evening on the 6pm prog over the past few weeks.

Since when has ITV Tyne Tees had its own ITV1+1 region? We used to get Yorkshire but watching last night I got North East Tonight? Confused

Since about March I think.

There was some mention of it here on TVF at the time.

The "Tyne Tees (South)" sub-region now no longer exists at all (I.e. it *had* continued to exist as an advertising sub-region only, even after the news sub-regions merged. But now, Tyne Tees advertising airtime is sold as a single advertising area, from Northumberland to North Yorkshire).

AIUI, this freed-up a "feed" (correct terminology?), which is therefore now being used for ITV1+1 Tyne Tees.

I think somebody on here said that at least one EPG (the Sky one, I think (and/or other EPGs?)) now uses the "Tyne Tees" suffix in the channel name, rather than the daft-looking "TT (N)" and "TT (S)" they were using before.

Wasn't some sort of information leaflet sent out? I thought somebody posted a scan of it on here.

Surprised my ears are burning...

It is indeed occupying the old South stream, which had been unused save for split adverts post-TT&B merger. So advertising is now pan-regional as a result.

And, yes, the Sky EPG now reads "ITV1 Tyne Tees" as opposed to "ITV1 TT N". 'twas all very exciting, ITV highlight of the year thus far.

Two reports from Eyemouth and Carlisle featured from 18.12-18.16 during the Tyne Tees opt with no relevance to the region - surely they shouldn't be using Border items during this time?

Probably.

To be honest, they'd be better off straight merging the two programmes at this point and then at least try to cobble together a passable 25 minute news magazine show, rather than the ramshackle patchwork disaster of a thing they hurl out at present.
