Why do Border get away with the 'goodbye' that every other region I've seen has had to drop? From what I can tell every other regions tends to end with something along the lines of 'Up next the latest National and International news with Alistair and Mary, bla-bla is back at 10:30, but for now, thank you for watching', which is seen here, here, (although there is a very quiet 'bye'), here and here. Every other region seems to view it as some sort of taboo word in the 6pm programme and would appear to be told to not say goodbye, yet Border do and get away with it?
EDIT: Although saying that, on the 30 day catch-up on Channel-online, they would seem to have reinstated their goodbyes...
Tyne Tees and Border do what they want. Along with saying goodbye they also light their set royal blue for the new look in January, and didn't adopt the teal colour which was introduced in all the other regions.
They have decided to continue using three programme names: previously ITV News Tyne Tees & Border, ITV News Tyne Tees and ITV News Lookaround... and now ITV News Tyne Tees, ITV News Border and ITV News Lookaround. I'd have opted for Lookaround across all Border output to restore some consistency ala Granada Reports and Calendar which are used across all bulletins/social media/web.

I don't understand why they're keeping 'Lookaround' - why not just keep 'Tyne Tees' and 'Border' and scrap Lookaround, and go for the combined TT&B brand in joint bulletins?

Considering Lookaround has one of the highest shares for the 6pm bulletin of all the ITV News regional bulletins.

And its one of the only regions to beat the BBC. If not the only one to do so!

That is surprising considering all the hype over the lack of local news in the north.

Lookaround has always done well, even with ITV mucking it about. But there's something about Pam Royal that grates with me, I don't know exactly what it is but at times I just find her overly dull...
