I had predicted a new studio weeks back when I noticed an empty stage with autocue on Rachel Sweeney's Instagram, but later saw an interview on the show with someone through a splitscreen, with the interviewee appearing to be on the stage. I assumed it was just for this, but obviously was their temp set.

And here is said Instagram post...

Far better temp set up compared to (admittedly for only a couple of days) set up they had on the weekend before the 2013 January rebrand.

I've been told that the new set should be ready in a couple of weeks.

Hardly anyone in the newsroom behind Pam & Ian. I suppose it's a rather sad reflection of the times with minimal staffing in the regional operations. As the newsrooms always used to be full of staff watching the programme go out live. Very sad

Thought I would share this with you, the GMB Regional News from the temporary set in the Border region:
KelpieP0921 and London Lite gave kudos

It should be noted that the section you seen on screen is an extremely small corner of the newsroom.

Also worth noting that cut in (can't think of the UK term) happened at 8AM in the morning. Probably the only people there are directly involved In the show. I Imagine the news room will fill up around 10 AM when the mid day show rolls in, does the lunch bulletin and proceed to gather news for the dinner broadcast. I would venture a guess that you also would see an empty newsroom during the 10PM newscast.

I must say I was surprised at the rough junction to network any way of alleviating this?

Must regions have a goodbye, after the weather but TT&B do it the other way round.

I think it's clumsy the goodbye, then the weather, then back to Network. They do a goodbye after the weather on the 6pm, so why not on the other bulletins? It's almost the last 'independent' thing TT like to do, after previous regional news music mixing an the like.
