Article here, suggests that he'll get £75k, for a 1 yr deal to host 100 shows from the end of Feb. I presume then he'll be a weekend anchor...

Nicholas Owen to News 24

Interesting that Media Guardian hasn't yet reported it...wonder why?

Well, I've just found that Monkey has at least reported it...

Quote:
Six weeks after he became the first celebrity to be kicked off Strictly Come Dancing, Nicholas Owen is waltzing away from ITV to join the BBC full time. This is good news not only for BBC news but also for the organisers of Children in Need, who will have another game for a laugh presenter to take part in their next hilarious charity skit. "It will be very difficult to leave behind my highly talented and lovely colleagues at ITN," says Owen. "It seemed the right moment to go for new challenges - and I look forward to plenty of those at BBC News." Yes, Nick, including singing comedy songs and making full use of the dressing up box. Oh, and presenting on News 24. Alastair Stewart will replace Owen on the ITV Lunchtime News. If Stewart asks to take part in next year's Strictly Come Dancing, his bosses will presumably tell him to foxtrot off.

One does wonder if where he will slot in at News 24

He wont have a regular slot but will present mainly at weekends and of course, when other presenters are away...

I think they will move a News 24 presenter into the gap left by Darren Jordan, with Nicholas Owen taking their place. I also think he will become stand in presenter for the Five o'clock news.

I don't think any announcement about a replacement for Darren has been made yet.

Sure with the constant presenter changes, we never really know who presents what.

Oh we do, we just have to read the endless posts on who's presented what and when along with pointless speculation as to why.
