For something based on an ageing generic brand that looks pretty damn good. Ditching the purple button logo is well overdue - that seems to have been around forever.

Approaching 13 years in actual fact. So it's well overdue!

I didn't think it was that great a logo in the first place.

Will be very interested to hear the David Lowe theme tune - I think someone (Pete?) said that it might be time for David Lowe to have a go at the theme tune so nice to see they actually did! The Broadcast article talks about how it tries to strengthen the link with BBC News, so will be nice to see how they incorporate the BBC News theme into Newsround, if that's the route they take.
Taking a look on the Newsround websites and it appears they're just using the screens from the old (and I believe new) set and have zoomed in so you can't see the rest of the set - presumably the new set is in place around the screens.

It's the most logo-ey logo that Newsround has ever had. I think the fact it's lasted so long is a testament to that versatility.

Think Lowe era Radio 1 Newsbeat and some BBC pips with a sprinkle of the usual fabness.
