Newsround: New look launched

I hope they just don't recolour the studio... A nice new layout would be good.

Although, as they share with The Broom Cupboard they have limited space. Although, if CBBC were to be given a new look too, they could incorporate the studios into eachother.

Do they share with the office set?

Like I've said before I think a large screen with a bit of set, maybe a chair and a desk would work better than all of these monitors.

I feel the 1997-2002 set did this really well with simple big screen and the desk to perch on.

Yes indeed - CBBC links and Newsround both share HQ5 at Salford.

Hence in the afternoons, whenever there's Newsround followed by a live continuity link, they have a trail and song in the middle so they can turn the cameras around and swap production teams in the gallery.

Well I never. Are the sets so tightly packed which is why you hardly get any long shots especially with newsround?

It makes even more sense to minimise the set surely especially when they rarely appear to use that sofa. I suppose it could come down to cost though.

Often a Newsround presenter is in the CBBC studio during continuity links during a sketch etc.

Very clever set up that they handle well. Did the old green screen for updates used to share with the office in London?

How much of the CBBC continuity is live these days?

Weekday afternoons 4pm - 6:30pm. Also weekday mornings during school holidays (can't remember the exact times off-hand.) Saturday mornings are sometimes live too.

How many studio links do they have at other times?

Any more word about the new look? The kids are back at school now, so I expected the relaunch to be this week. Would've made sense to do it at the start of the school new year.
