NOTE: This is based on opinion, not fact.

Obviously all newsreaders are completly "neutral" and have no political opinion of their own Laughing but with a general election coming up, which political party would you automatically associate newsreaders with - just from what you see of them on screen.

For example, Huw Edwards I automatically associate with Labour while Jon Snow I link to the Lib Dems.

And as Natasha Kaplinsky generally comes across as not having a clue what she's talking about and jumping on the latest bandwagon, obviously she's a Tory!

I'd be interested to read who you associate with which parties!

P.S. In addition if the cabinet was formed from newsreaders (and correspondants) who would get which post.

The main posts include Primeminister, Deputy PM, Chancellor, Foreign Secretary, Home Secretary, Health, Education, Defence and Culture.

I'm afraid you're wrong because Natasha worked for the Labour Party when she graduated from Oxford University.

I'd never have thought of Huw and Labour, I'd automatically asociate him with Plaid.

This is a bizarre thread that will cause all sorts of ranting and raving. Does it really matter, or does anyone really care what parties we "think" a newscaster supports??

Oh well - here goes..................I think Moira is definately a Conservative voter. Sian is Plaid Cymru. Jackie Bird is without doubt SNP and there are SEVERAL who support the Rainbow Flag party........................

I think Jon Snow would have to be PM, with Huw as deputy, and Trevor as Party Chair.

Chancellor would be Paddy O'Connel.

The Newsreader Party - wanting a newsier Britain.

Bill and Sian can be joint Culture Media and Sport ministers, with Kay Burley as the new minister for Beauty Care , with Natasha as her deputy Razz

Is that something she'd aspire to, or lead by example? Wink

Thinks she leads, but really only aspires Wink

Moira would keep the house in order, as Chair.

EDIT- In fact I would rename the Dept. of Beauty to the Dept. of Lipgloss - then Kay and Natasha can argue over who wears the most.

As I said it's opinion, not fact! Interesting you say that though - I just couldn't associate her with Labour!

Interesting that early posts automatically link Welsh newsreaders with Plaid Cymru and Scottish with the SNP.

As for the first entries in our newsreader cabinet - surely the PM job must go to Trevor - and finally be able to deliver the "News at 10" in his Downing Street press conferences!
