The BBC National News is broadcast from studio N6, a studio in the News Centre of Television Centre.

This studio also houses Breakfast and Sportsround, as well as various BBC World programmes and Sunday AM/Politics Show.

Newsnight broadcasts from studio TC7 - in a completely different part of the building - which also houses Working Lunch and Newsround.

TC7 also used to house Breakfast before it moved to N6 for financial reasons.

no - the 10 is in N6, Newsnight is in TC7. They just have almost identical sets - the clue is in the colour of the floor.

The respective sets in studio N6 and studio TC7 are pretty much identical, the only significant difference being the floor.

In N6, the floor is painted pale grey (almost white), in TC7 it is painted jet black.

The floor during PS is blatantly black, therefore is obviously TC7, not N6.

As one studio has a "light" feel to it, and the other a "dark" feel (during wide-shots, at least), how there can be any confusion as to which shows come from which studio (including the original question that started this thread) is beyond me. Rolling Eyes

Cut the guy some slack guys - I for one knew it was two studios, but don't notice differences like the floor!

Talking of this, is there any reason in particular that Breakfast was switched from one set to the other?

N6 is smaller and cheaper to run

You're right - PS and Sunday AM are in TC7. However as I haven't seen either programme for quite some time I haven't been able to conduct a full study of every shot. Apologies if that's wrong in your eyes.
