Currently watching Newsnight, there appears to be some sort of issue with the lights. First they went off, then back on full blast, then started flashing. For a time the guests were sitting in the dark!

Think it was a studio in NI.

Sorry if there is a main thread for Newsnight, could not find it in the search

Surely this should be in The Newsroom?

News Channel not carrying the 2315 repeat either.

Incidentally, the bit live in Northern Ireland came from the set of BBC NI's 'The View'.

Which eagle-eyed viewers will recognise as salvage from an old Sunday Morning Live set, before it moved to its current London set.

Just as the lights went off the first time, there were a lot of chime noises in the background, sounding like someone was using a touchscreen to control something.

It's definitely worth a watch, in any case - I don't think they had more than a couple of minutes of stable lighting.

I heard that. It was getting faster and faster until the lights just blew.

Also when the full house lights came on, it make the studio look like a bright daytime TV show being broadcast in the afternoon. Surprising what a few lights can do!

There's a bit about it here (including a screen grab).
