No news organisation would not be critical of the way their staff have been treated. There is solidarity between journalists, this is the sort of occasion when the profession pulls together. Last night there were staff from the Mail, Mirror and others joining the NotW staff in the pub drowning their sorrows. The difference with Sky of course is that they are connected organisationally to the Murdochs and soon could be even more so... it could be them next. Sky already has a reputation for being ruthless when it comes to staffing.
I'm not so sure that Sky News employees aren't happy with the takeover/spin of. Editorially it might have benefits, but they are left with a load of far less lucrative shares
In my opinion, Sky News have been quite critical of the way News International has treated its employees - if anything, I think they've purposely tried to raise the question of BskyB to try and raise opposition to the takeover. I wouldn't put it past them - it's been clear for a while that Sky News employees are not happy with the takeover and spin-off.
